writing prompt 001 - priya (stardust rp site charrie)

Prompt: Create a story based on this plot: gets trapped in a bathroom on Valentine’s day

…wut?

Valentine’s Day. If there was ever a day that suited the goddess of love, that was the day. Every year, it was made a bigger deal than usual by the blonde, and said blonde was shameless in her celebrating of it. Priya was vocal in her delight of the day, even though she knew that it could be tiring to her boyfriend. Poor Aiden. The blonde did have a hint of suspicion that the male didn’t really enjoy the holiday — not that it was surprising; most guys didn’t — but she held no regrets in holding the day up on a pedestal. It was just one thing that he had to get used to, according to her. Priya didn’t always try to be conceited and self absorbed, but it just couldn’t be helped on this particular day. It was her day after all, and that was more true than what any other girl could say. Priya had no qualms with boasting about how she was, quite literally, the goddess of love, and took on the second — or third, however one looked at it — name of Aphrodite for the day. To her, it was a crime to under-celebrate Valentine’s, and she expected each one to be special. Cliche didn’t terribly matter to her, and in fact, she welcomed it. Cheesy material could be cheesy, but she was a hopeless romantic, and all of that sappy shit infinitely pleased her.

Again, poor Aiden.

For this Valentine’s, Priya had the grand idea to coax the poor, poor general into taking her to a fancy Italian restaurant that she’d only gone to once in her childhood. It wasn’t terribly difficult to get him to agree, as per usual. Perhaps one day she’d go on about how he spoiled her so much, but that wasn’t today. Today, she was expecting to be showered with pampering and sparkily things. Tomorrow, she could go back to not being overly conceited.

Everything was going as she hoped it would too, with the restaurant having as delicious food as she remembered, and the atmosphere being almost addictive. It was a smart move on her part to request a booth where she could just scoot closer to Aiden without the space of the chairs hindering her. Really, it was no surprise that, at some point of dinner, Priya ended up more or less pressed against her beloved, one hand teasing him under the table with their dimly lit surroundings concealing her movements from the rest of the patrons. It wasn’t something that she usually did…no, not usually. Occasionally, sure, she just couldn’t help herself. It had always been, and would always be, one of her favourite activities; pushing the normally stoic general’s buttons. It thrilled her to no end when she knew that she was able to get under his skin, to coax reactions out of him that was impossible for others to do. In some ways, it have her a sort of power high. In other ways, and the predominate reason, she loved to see those other sides of him. From the start, from their past lives, it’d always been the hard faced, emotionless shitennou leader that she’d seen. But once those shields were cracked…the blonde honestly couldn’t get enough of his smiles, his laughs, his gentleness. Granted, that didn’t mean she didn’t like his firmness — god, she loved his firmness, and not just in regards to his personality — she loved all of him, but it was just especially exciting to see those sides of him that he generally kept hidden.

However, her teasing of him was cut off as she slid from her seat, giving an excuse to the affect of needing to powder her nose. Totally lame, not totally untrue. But, with a smirk, Priya made her way to the extravagant bathroom that matched the elegance of the rest of the restaurant. It was void of other people, which didn’t matter much to the blonde as she did her business, then proceeded to the mirror to inspect herself. It was essential that she still looked gorgeous as possible, and with that, she began touching up the little makeup she’d worn. It was only a few seconds later that the bathroom lights began flickering, causing the blonde to glance up at them. Her first thought was that the building’s electricity had a bit of a fritz, and that it was fine. Odd, since she wouldn’t have expected something like that to happen to such a rich establishment, but fine nonetheless. It wasn’t until the lights continued to flicker and eerie noises reached her ears that she began thinking that something was wrong. Collecting her few items, Priya stuffed them in her small purse and headed to the door. Pulling on the handle, the blonde found the door to be locked, which immediately sent off her mental warning lights. Her breathing hitched as she tried the door several more times, though her attempts at opening it were futile. The lights flickered for the last time before going out completely, drowning Priya in complete darkness. In a rush of desperation, the blonde pounded on the door, calling for Aiden, even if the table that she left him at was out of hearing range of the bathroom. But still, as the sounds in the darkness became increasingly closer and louder, as well as creepy in general, her screams became more frantic.

Just when the sounds seemed to be right next to her, they stopped, and the lights came back on. In all of an instant, everything went back to normal, and Priya was left leaning against the door, her breathing rapid and her eyes staring around the bathroom wildly. The sounds of worried employees outside the bathroom floated to her ears, and it took all her might to pull away from the door, just barely registering Aiden’s voice through the others. The blonde took a deep breath and closed her eyes as she felt a hand on her arm. Had all that really happened? It seemed too real to be just a figment of her imagination. But…she took another breath to calm her pounding heart before opening her eyes to find Aiden’s. There had to be an explanation for that, which she’d search for later. For now…there was the matter of getting out of there first to deal with.

idesofnovember:

I spent a long time trying to decide if I wanted to get into a giant rant about this scene or not.  In the end I decided not.

But it does make my eyebrow twitch a lot

I know the show needs to keep Chibi-Usa’s secret longer for dramatic reasons, and it is perfectly in-character for Mamoru to say what he said.  In fact, it’s so in-character I give the writers of this episode kudos.  Actually, imo, everyone (every inner, Chibi-Usa, Usagi, even Shingo) was completely on-point this entire episode and for that reason it’s one of my favorites.

BUT, I mean, I think it should have been made more obvious that, while I’m sure he meant well, Mamoru is in the wrong here.  Sailor Moon and Minako are right - Chibi-Usa needs to open up and depend on them.  This isn’t the time for secrets or walls or keeping a code of silence on important things. (MAMORU.)

But the show doesn’t make that clear.  It seems to illustrate the opposite - with Chibi-Usa running to Tuxedo Kamen and him walking off with her - away from the girls.

Sailor Moon, Minako and Makoto are shut down completely in their pleading to Chibi-Usa.

I don’t know.

Meh. Over-thinking a kid’s show? ME?! Surely you jest.

OOPS LOOK LIKE I DID RANT. :-/

I want to share with you guys something that’s really made an impact in my life. That’s Jeremiah 29:11. “‘For I know the plans that I have for you’, says the Lord. ‘Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future.’”
